Our Story

Pat's Journey

This journey began in 1986 when Pat Casarez, the founder of Patsy’s Hope, and her husband, Ernie, became foster parents. Pat and Ernie had two wonderful boys of their own but Pat’s heart wanted to help other little girls like she had been helped.

Pat was abandoned at birth at an orphanage in Germany. When she was 6 months old and only weighing 9 lbs., an American couple, David and Alma Mosher, became her foster parents. After a lengthy legal battle, she was adopted into their family. If David and Alma had not stepped up to care for this orphan, she probably would not have survived and for that she is eternally grateful.

Here is a short video that tells Patsy’s story. Patsy is what she was called as a child and to show gratitude for her parents giving her a new future, she wants to pass on this Hope to other vulnerable children especially after all we have all gone through during the COVID-19 Pandemic.
